Denali Guidebook Author Ike Waits
I first hiked in Denali National Park in the summers of 1967 and 1968 while working summer jobs there. That experience prompted my move from Arizona to Alaska in 1974. Since then I have backpacked or hiked without trails extensively in Denali National Park plus done trips in Gates of the Arctic National Park and Lake Clark National Park. Each summer I continue to hike and photograph in Denali National Park.
In 2000 I published the 1st Edition of the Denali guidebook on hiking, photographing and camping in Denali National Park. I hope the 4th Edition of my Denali Guidebook will encourage more people to get off the Denali bus and hike.
I am a member of the Alaska Society of Outdoor and Nature Photography Association and the Alaska Photographic Center.
