Denali National Park Alaska - Hiking, Photography and Camping.

Ike Waits photographed by Neil Moomey.

I first hiked in Denali National Park while working summer jobs there in 1967 and 1968. This experience prompted a permanent move from Arizona to Alaska in 1974. During my community development career I worked throughout Alaska.  Now I am pursuing photography and writing fulltime. I have hiked and floated rivers in Gates of the Arctic National Park and continued hiking in Denali. In 1995 I decided to produce this book to encourage more people to get off the Denali bus and hike.  Each summer since 1995 I have spent at least three weeks in the park researching these hikes and photographing.

I am a member of the Alaska Society of Outdoor and Nature Photography Association and the Alaska Photographic Center.

I would like to hear your suggestions to improve this website or the Denali Guidebook. Please tell me about your experiences hiking or backpacking on routes described in the Denali Guidebook.  I would really like to hear about other routes that you explore!

While I travel frequently, I will try to address your comments and answer questions quickly.  However in the summer I will be in Denali or exploring other places in Alaska far from an Internet connection.
